Community Meeting/Open House on Northern Avenue Bridge
The City of Boston is hosting a community meeting about the Northern Avenue Bridge project. It will begin with an open house where participants can view project materials, learn more about the current bridge’s structural analysis, mobility evaluation, placemaking, and design process, and speak with members of the project team. A presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by time for Q&A.

New England Aquarium Lecture Series: Inclusive Community Resilience Building in East Boston
Three East Boston leaders [Magdalena Ayed, The Harborkeepers; Alex DeFronzo, Piers Park Sailing Center; and Kannan Thiruvengadam, Eastie Farms and The Friends of the East Boston Greenway] are taking steps to engage diverse residents in activities to help foster community resilience in light of the challenges. The New England Aquarium is collaborating with these leaders on a project called Communities Advancing Science Literacy. The panelists will discuss why they do their work, how it is making a positive difference, and how more people can get involved to foster community resilience.

Suffolk Downs Development Public Meetings & Comment Period
The Suffolk Downs proposal by HYM includes 10.5 million square feet of mixed-use development and 40 acres of open space on the 109 acres of the site in the City of Boston (additional space is in the City of Revere). Public meetings are ongoing (see link below) and public comments on the Draft Project Impact Report (DPIR) are accepted through mid-December.

Suffolk Downs Public Meeting
State Senator Boncore, state Representative Madaro, and city Councilor Edwards, along with the HYM Investment Group, will hold a public meeting to discuss the Draft Project Impact Report (DPIR) filing for Suffolk Downs. Representatives of the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services will be in attendance.

Resilient Places + People: An open space vision for Boston’s future
In connection with “Breathing Room: Mapping Boston’s Green Spaces,” an exhibition now on view at the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library, the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and NBBJ are hosting a conversation to discuss and debate what Boston’s priorities should be as we build upon a great legacy today and look ahead to future needs.
